Dad is pretending to be an estate agent selling the Grannies' house to Mum, but Janet and Rita do not want to move out.

Tropes:

  • Call-Forward: The episode ends with a Wham Shot of an actual For Sale sign in front of the Heeler's house. The next episode is literally called "The Sign" and is all about what that means for the Heelers.
  • Double Meaning: Towards the end, during their game, Bluey and Bingo (as Rita and Janet) thank the "estate agent" (Bandit) for scaring away the "realtor" (Chili) so they can keep their house. He humbly acknowledges their appreciation, but tells them that he "can't do this every time." All the while, as Chili runs out of the house pretending to be the spooked realtor, a shot reveals a "For Sale" sign. The line simultaneously implies that should the Heeler house be sold "for real life", Bandit won't have an excuse to keep it or ward off buyers like in the girls' game. Even more sobering, it could be Bandit's way of telling his daughters that although he was able to give the characters in their game a happy ending, real life won't be as kind.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: Right after Bandit as the "estate agent" tries to comfort the recently kicked out "grannies" by saying that the "realtor" seems to be a nice lady:
  • Irony: Given they're reccurring "characters" in the show, Janet and Rita's presence in the episode gives the impression that this is going to be another innocuous, standard story of Bluey and Bingo's shenanigans. Instead, the story ends on a not-so-innocuous note that the Heelers are moving.
  • Mood Whiplash: The episode seemingly ends on a light-hearted note that, as part of the Heelers' game, the grannies (Bluey and Bingo) have successfully scared off the realtor (Chilli) thanks to the help of their charitable new friend (Bandit). Even more light-hearted is how Chili continues to run out of the house screaming in a goofy fashion... until the camera pans out to reveal their house is for sale, complete with Silent Credits to drive it home.
  • Oh, Crap!: Chili's character goes from smug to scared really quickly when she sees that the haunted wheelbarrow is not being commandeered by the Grannies like the washing basket was.
  • Scooby-Dooby Doors: Part of the chase around the house involves this. A twist is given, however, as instead of the sequence playing out as one continuous shot, slight cuts are made to give the impression that the chase has been going on for some time.
  • Shout-Out: Alongside the Scooby-Doo reference above, at the beginning of the episode, when "Hugo" (Bandit) shows "Monique" (Chilli) the house, she remarks that it seems small, to which "Hugo" replies "it's bigger inside."
  • Silent Credits: This episode has the credits run in silence, and with no animation playing over it, to help emphasize the Wham Shot described below.
  • Sudden Downer Ending: The episode seems like it's going to end on a silly note that Bluey and Bingo's characters were able to keep their imaginary home from being bought by a pretend realtor. But a pan-out reveals that the Heeler's House is being sold for real life, letting the audience know that for all of Bluey and Bingo's games, none of their games can undo the harsh reality that drastic changes are underway.
  • Wham Episode: The end of the episode reveals that Bandit and Chilli have put the family's house up for sale.
  • Wham Shot: When Chilli runs out of the house at the end after being scared by a “ghost wheelbarrow”, the camera pans out to reveal that the Heeler house has a real “for sale” sign on the front lawn.

Bluey - Ghostbasket (Spoiler)

Because of the wham shot of the "for sale" sign on the Heeler House lawn, the episode ends with the credits running in silence.
