Recap / Bluey Christmas Swim

Go To

Bandit, Chilli, and their daughters are celebrating Christmas with Stripe and his family, plus Nana Chris. She gives Bandit and Stripe "World's Best Chef" aprons, while Bandit gives her a shirt that reads, "Hang on. I'll just get my glasses.", and Chilli gives Bluey a doll.

She names the doll Bartleby and "introduces" him to Stripe, who splashes him jumping into the pool. Then, she shows Bartleby to Socks, who licks him, and to Muffin, who is pretending to be a businesswoman. Then, Bluey shows Bartleby to Bingo, who takes him, leading to a tug-of-war between her and Stripe, who pull Bartleby's shirt off. Finally, Bluey shows Bartleby to Bandit, who jumps on him when diving in the pool.

Bluey has Nana dry Bartleby off, while complaining that Bandit "broke [Bartleby's] arm". Then, during a video call with Rad and Frisky, Bluey complains about her relatives' behaviours toward her doll, saying she wants to go home. Rad and Frisky, however, tell Bluey to give her relatives another chance, and they have a merry Christmas together.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Christmas Episode: Like "Verandah Santa", this episode is Christmas-themed, though it takes place on the actual day rather than Christmas Eve.
  • Companion Cube: Bluey treats Bartleby like a real person. Justified, since she's only about six or seven, and that's normal for kids that age.
  • Fun T-Shirt: Nana's shirt reads, "Hang on. I'll just get my glasses.", reflecting how Bandit knew she would say exactly that before being able to read it.
  • Good-Times Montage: During Frisky's wholesome speech about why the Heelers are a good family, the audience is treated to a montage of all the times Bartlebee spends with the Heeler family. What's more, there's also how the Heelers interact wholesomely and happily with one another all throughout Christmas day.
  • Relationship Upgrade: Frisky and Rad have become a couple after the events of "Double Babysitter".
  • Title Drop: Muffin gleefully shouts, "Christmas swim!" when she and Socks both get pool floats for Christmas.
