The Heelers are having a picnic, and Chilli and Bluey are acting out a story with their hands (that have googly eyes stuck on them). Chilli is playing an older sister (known as Big Sister), while Bluey is playing the younger one (Little Sister). Bingo adds another hand-character, of a fairy.

In the story, Big Sister is protective of Little Sister, but she thinks Big Sister is a spoilsport. It's a cold day and they want somewhere to warm up, so the fairy shows them a warm place in the Blue Mountains (which are represented by Bandit's legs; he's lying on his back with his legs bent).

They set off together, but Big Sister is very cautious. When the hands reach the tummy, Bandit blocks their way with his arms, so the female Heelers decide that in the story, they get the "wall" down by tickling Bandit. Then, he makes his own hand character: a fox, who offers them directions.

Bluey's Little Sister character is unsure they can trust the fox, who then leads the other hand characters to a cave (represented by Bandit's mouth). Then, Bandit sucks on Chilli's hand, so the other hand characters attack the "fox", and he spits the hand out. The story ends with the hand characters finding some beds (represented by Bandit's ears) and living happily ever after.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Animation Bump: Every now and again, the close-up of the hand-characters get rather detailed, especially on Bandit's snout after he eats one of the "sisters".
  • Foul Fox: The villain of the game the Heeler family are playing is a fox (played by Bandit's hand) who pretends to be "kindly" and tricks Big Sister (Chilli's hand) into getting trapped in a cave (Bandit's mouth).
  • Go-to-Sleep Ending: In-Universe — the Heelers' story ends on the sisters and the fairy sleeping in the beds they'd been looking for all story.
  • Hesitation Equals Dishonesty: Bandit pauses a lot when he makes his character lie.
  • I Don't Think That's Such a Good Idea:
    • The Big Sister character in the story keeps doubting the actions the other characters take and thinking they're unsafe.
    • Then, the Little Sister character is the one to be unsure; this time about following the fox character.
  • A Lesson Learned Too Well: Big Sister (played by Chilli's hand) learns to not worry so much and have fun. Unfortunately, this causes her to be easily manipulated by a "kindly" fox (Bandit), despite Little Sister (Bluey) warning her not to trust him.
