Tropes:

  • Betty and Veronica: In the episode, Camille is the Betty to Mercedes' Veronica over Logan's Archie.
  • Briar Patching: How Gustavo tricks the boys into going to the Super Party Fun Box in order to get them away from the Rocque Records Party.
  • Brick Joke:
    • Russian acrobats were seen coming to the boys' party halfway through the episode. Later on, said acrobats turned out to be part of the Rocque Records party but cancelled, so Gustavo and Kelly have to fill in.
    • Also, Griffin tells Gustavo that the party is so boring that he would rather watch a Dutch man make molasses, and some time later a Dutch man making molasses shows up.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The Super Party Fun Box early in the episode is used again to trick Bitters into getting trapped so the Palmwoods Party can carry on without delay.
  • Childish Pillow Fight: The boys started one in the Palm Woods hotel lobby. This ended up being strike one for their eviction from the Palm Woods for having a party.
  • Continuity Nod:
  • Department of Redundancy Department: This marks the start of said Running Gag, with James calling himself and Carlos "the Hollywood Super Party Kings of Hollywood".
    Logan: You said "Hollywood" twice.
    James: You bet I did.
  • Exact Words: Kendall insists James and Carlos "get everyone out of the apartment." This ends up moving the party to the pool.
Kendall: I told you to get rid of everybody!
Carlos: No, you said to get everybody out of the apartment, and we did!
  • Forbidden Fruit: The boys can stay, but they MUST NOT go into Gustavo's "Super Party Fun Box". Curiosity gets the better of them, and it turns out to be a practical joke which causes them to end up back at the apartment. Also doubles as Reverse Psychology.
  • Ironic Echo: When the boy's sense a party in the Rocque Records they say, "I smell party!" And when Bitters senses it in the apartment, he says the same thing.
  • Lover Tug of War: Logan briefly imagines Camille and Mercedes doing this with him in his daydream. It cuts to reality with Carlos and James looking confused at Logan who is seemingly jerked back and forth on his own.
  • Shoddy Shindig: The Rocque Records party turns out awful and boring, with nothing entertaining. It is enough for Fujisaki to almost literally die of boredom.
  • Spit Take: When Kendall asks Jo if she likes hockey, he does this trope when she replies that she hates it. And when he explains the situation to Carlos and James, they have the same reaction.
  • We Need a Distraction: When trying to stop Bitters from detecting that the Palm Woods party is because of the boys, Kendall and Jo bring out a boom box and some party tongues while shouting about a party to lure him away.
