Go To

Once more, Old George brings the Forever Knights together, but this time he is declaring a war against all aliens on Earth.

Tropes in this episode

  • Badass Boast: Ben gives an amazing one to Driscoll, that doubles as a rather grim warning.
Ben: Maybe you've forgotten something… I'm Ben Tennyson, wielder of the most powerful weapon in the universe. I stopped the Highbreed invasion, I defeated Vilgax in hand-to-hand combat and I've beaten the Forever Knights more times that I can count. Here's what's going to happen; you're going to release these prisoners, you're going to crawl back to wherever you came from and you're going to stop hunting down aliens. Because if you don't, I promise, you'll regret it for the rest of your very. Short. Lives.
  • Buffy Speak: During their duel, Ben derisively refers to Driscoll's kinetic energy lance as a "pointy stick".
  • Call-Back:
    • Ben and Kevin briefly face an upgraded version of the dragon from "Ben 10 Returns".
    • During his above Badass Boast: Ben notes that he's defeated the likes of the Highbreed, Vilgax, and Driscoll's own forces multiple times over the course of his life.
  • Characterization Marches On: Compared to the dour Grumpy Old Man who saw Ben as a Sitcom Arch-Nemesis he became in Omniverse, Mr. Baumann here is a Cool Old Guy who hasn’t seen Ben in years and remembers him fondly.
  • Early Instalment Character Design Difference: Compared to his later appearances in Omniverse, Mr. Baumann is slimmer, has a more normal hairstyle and is clean shaven.
  • Honor Before Reason: Ben rejects Kevin's suggestion to transform into Way Big to defeat Driscoll, noting that it would be a less than honorable fight if he took advantage of his indomitable size to give himself an unfair advantage.
  • Implied Death Threat: Ben warns Driscoll and the Forever Knights that if they don't stop hunting down aliens, he'll see to it that they'll "regret it for the rest of their very short lives".
  • Killed Off for Real: Pierce is killed by the Forever Knights early in the episode.
  • Lame Comeback: Despite Ben taking his challenge with Driscoll very seriously, he doesn't exactly have a good counter to the latter's Pre Ass Kicking One Liner.
Driscoll: For Earth! [charges at Ben]
    Ben: For...whatever!
  • Never Going Back to Prison: Trumbipulor insists that he "ain't going back to the Null Void".
  • Sore Loser: Driscoll's response to losing to Ultimate Spidermonkey is to attempt to renege on his conditions and orders his forces to kill the alien prisoners at their disposal. It takes a vicious Badass Boast from Ben for him to back down.
  • Story-Breaker Power: Kevin attempts to invoke this by suggesting that Ben turn into Way Big to win against Driscoll, but Ben shoots the idea down, wanting to fight on even ground with him.
  • Suddenly Speaking: Trumbipulor only communicated through elephant noises in his previous appearance. Here, he speaks English with a Brooklyn accent.
  • Took a Level in Badass: The Forever Knights become a Not-So-Harmless Villain thanks to Old George’s resources.
