Cash and JT attempt to get their grift on.
Ben's former bullies, Cash and JT, attempt to become famous by taking credit for the team's actions. However, they attract the attention of Psyphon when they claim to be the brains behind the trio. Desiring to avenge his former master, he goes after them.- Action Survivor: In the end, Cash and JT are just regular high-schoolers, after whom a revenge-obsessed alien goes after. They help Ben by defeating Psyphon with the energy decoupler.
- Bittersweet Ending: Cash and JT help Ben with defeating Psyphon, but they are left as total losers due to their act of heroism not being recorded as well as them confessing to taking credit for the team's actions.
- Bland-Name Product: Averted, with Gwen referring to having received “200 tweets” about Cash’s sob story being fake.
- The Bus Came Back: Oliver, who was Will Harangue's reluctant dragon, gets hired by the bullies to film them. Psyphon also makes his Ultimate Alien debut.
- Call-Back: Ben recognizes Oliver from his involvemment with Harangue's video game scam, and is not happy to see him again.
- Chekhov's Gun: The energy decoupler is a dangerous technology that the Forever Knights were after. Cash and JT end up using it to defeat Psyphon.
- Exact Words: Cash gets Gwen on side by saying that his mom needs money for an operation, which her Living Lie Detector powers confirm to be the truth. Later on, when Psyphon scares the bullies into confessing, Cash admits that the operation was a nose job. Gwen isn't pleased when she learns about it through Twitter.
- The Faceless: One of the Forever Knights even wears his helmet when at home brushing his teeth,
- Gilligan Cut: After Cash claims he and JT have advanced alien detecting gear, it cuts to earlier, with them and Oliver seeing the meteor coming down while moping.
- The Greatest Story Never Told: Cash and JT do end up becoming heroes by defeating Psyphon with the energy decoupler. However, Oliver's camcorder ran out of battery before he could record it and the only ones who were there to witness it were themselves, Oliver and the team, who didn't have a high opinion of them anyway.
- Properly Paranoid: Gwen knew about Cash and JT's podcast beforehand, but didn't tell Ben because "then you would've gone Rath and chased them down". Later on, after he gets sufficiently annoyed at their lies, he decides it's "Rath time".
- Suddenly Always Knew That: Cash and JT having knowledge of the Plumbers. Per
Word of God, “In Bellwood, you hear stuff”.
