Amplifier Artifact: The Keystone of Bezel amplifies the abilities of whoever wields it tenfold. It can also amplify the power of the other Charms of Bezel.
Breakout Villain: Charmcaster was created as a sidekick for Hex in this episode. She ended up surpassing him in popularity and became Gwen's Arch-Enemy.
Fake Defector: When Gwen catches Charmcaster off-guard and snatches her bag away, Charmcaster plays innocent and says Hex forced her to go along with his plan, explaining what Hex's plan is and attacking him to gain everyone's trust. Once she is close enough to Gwen, she snatches the Keystone of Bezel from Gwen unnoticed and rejoins Hex.
The Starscream: Charmcaster turns on Hex for real in the climax of the episode. She says she only needed him to perform the recreation ritual for her since he was a "master magician".
Sequel Episode: To Lucky Girl, with Hex making his return in an attempt re-create the Charms of Bezel. Gwen also takes on the identity of Lucky Girl once more.
Tempting Fate: Charmcaster arrogantly states Hex's staff only works in the hands of a 'master magician', but Gwen manages to fire a blast of magic energy from the staff, which sends Charmcaster flying into a wall, knocking her out. No one, not even Gwen, saw this coming.
