This ain't your average school field trip...
Every 17 years, college students of an alien species come to the town of Walton to feast on popcorn and poop gold. When a member of their own goes missing, the team gets called to find him. We are not making this stuff up.Tropes for this episode include:
- Bizarre Alien Biology: Aside from the aliens pooping gold, it’s revealed that Echo Echo’s species is made of silicon, which proves crucial in restoring Decka to normal.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: The way the aliens act after consuming popcorn can bring to mind a person being drunk or high on drugs. The fact that the aliens are college students on "spring break" is probably not a coincidence.
- Fairy Tale Motif: The aliens bear a passing resemblance to the Aesop fable of the Goose that laid Golden eggs. The Mayor trying to get more gold from Decka signifies that farmer's plan to cut open the titular Goose and get more eggs. And his plan backfiring more or less resembles the ending where the farmer is now without a gold-laying goose.
- Greed: Partly the motivation for why the townsfolk of Walton allow Decka's species to visit their town and practically vandalize it during their vacation. So long as the aliens poop out gold, they use it to keep their town going. Deconstructed when the Mayor gets too avaricious and not only captures Decka, but forces him to eat meat in order to get more gold.
- Hoist by Their Own Petard: Mayor Coleman kidnapped Decka in order to use the extra gold poop to pay off his debts. This leads to Decka having such a horrible time (on top of being forced to eat meat and nearly destroy Earth) that he plans to tell his kind to stay away, meaning the town now lost its greatest source of income. Not to mention our heroes arrest the Mayor for essentially abducting a college kid.
- Makes Sense In Context: The town of Walton's economy revolves around pleasing Decka's species during their vacation every 17 years, and in return for their Sacred Hospitality, the aliens poop out gold. No, this is not a joke.
- Small-Town Tyrant: The Mayor sets off the main conflict by kidnapping one of the aliens and mutating him into a colossus through allergies.
- Solid Gold Poop: The source of Walton’s revenue.
- Toilet Humor: The aliens that visit the town of Walton can poop gold.
- Villain in a White Suit: Mayor Coleman, as the Big Bad of the episode.
- Vomit Discretion Shot: Done while Decka is vomiting out the dozens of Echo Echo clones, since it's made of silicon and silicon is considered poisonous to his species.
