Kevin expresses distrust towards a new team member.
While Ben, Gwen and Kevin are searching for allies, they meet Michael Morningstar, whose classmate girls have been turning into zombies. While Ben and Gwen quickly makes him a part of the team, Kevin is a bit suspicious of him.

Tropes found in this episode:

  • Big Brother Instinct: In this case, it's Little Cousin Instinct. Ben wastes no time in activating the Omnitrix to transform once he sees Mike Morningstar draining the life and energy from Gwen.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Mike Morningstar. On the surface, he's a heroic young man who's helpful and wants to aid Ben in his cause. However, he is in reality a power-hungry villain who wants Gwen, not for her personality, but for her energy.
  • The Dog Bites Back: After Gwen rebels against Mike Morningstar and takes back her energy, he looks to his other victims and pleads they "feed" him their own energy reserves. Instead, the girls follow Gwen's lead and take back their own energy from him, restoring them to normal.
  • It's All My Fault: Ben feels horrible for almost getting Gwen zombified by trusting Morningstar too quickly.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: After Morningstar is drained of all his energy, Kevin rubs in his defeat by smashing his father’s Plumber badge.
    Kevin: You don’t deserve this.
  • Properly Paranoid: Kevin constantly acts aggressive towards Michael Morningstar due to believing he's sabotaging the group and is lying about who he says he is. Ben and Gwen think he's being unreasonable at first, but he's later proven to be right at the climax.
  • Red Herring: At the start of the episode, a creature with a strange mouth appears to be responsible for the zombies. Then it's revealed that the strange mouth is a part of Michael's hand.
  • Wham Line: "And now, all those other girls mean nothing." This confirms the audience's suspicions that Mike was involved with those zombie girls.
  • Wham Shot: Following Mike's Wham Line, he reaches out to touch Gwen. But instead of an ordinary hand, we are treated to a shot of a lamprey-like mouth on his palm, bearing the familiar pattern as the rings found on the zombie girls' arms.
