When a Predacon attack leaves them blind, Rhinox, Rattrap, Dinobot, and Cheetor must find their way back to base before their sparks extinguish.

- Exactly What I Aimed At: Dinobot thinks that Scorponok's missile was intended to hit the group rather than the nearby energon. Scorponok responds by telling him to look at what the missile is doing to said energon.
- Eye Scream: The explosion renders the four Maximals blind.
- From Bad to Worse: The Maximals are already damaged and blind, but transforming to beast mode is painful and doesn't fix the blindness. Rhinox grimly notes the situation is worse than he feared and projects how long they have to get repaired or else.
- Handicapped Badass: Rhinox, Dinobot, Cheetor and Rattrap spend most of the episode injured and blind, but they manage to make their way to a point close to the Axalon by relying on their other senses, and Rhinox even manages to coordinate the other three when they're attacked by Waspinator, Terrorsaur and Scorponok so that they fight off their attackers while still unable to see.
- Idiot Ball: Particularly relevant for Dinobot, as he is shown transforming into robot mode as the energon crystal explodes when it would have been far safer to remain in beast mode.
- Misery Builds Character: In the end, Rhinox says this was a good experience because now they know how much they can accomplish in beast mode.
- Never Found the Body: Scorponok is certain the Maximals are dead, but Megatron later calls him on not checking for remains that would've determined that.
- Never My Fault: After getting yelled at by Megatron, Scorponok blames his failure to check for remains on Waspinator.
- The Power of Friendship: Rhinox refuses to leave an injured Cheetor behind. He also never doubted that Optimus would find them.
- Pre-Asskicking One-Liner: As the large snake is about to devour Rattrap, it notices Rhinox stomping on its tail.Rhinox: Got ya now! [sends the snake flying]
- Race Against the Clock: The energon contamination is slowly killing the Maximals. Rhinox estimates they have about an hour at most. Being in robot mode speeds up the contamination, though.
- Snakes Are Sinister: The group gets ambushed by a rather large one. It nearly crushes Cheetor to death.
- This Cannot Be!: Waspinator's reaction to the blinded Maximals being able to fight off him and Terrorsaur.
- This Is Gonna Suck: Waspinator catches up to the Maximals, just as they're crossing the log over the waterfall. Rhinox starts to hear Waspinator's inherent buzzing and has this reaction right before the missile attack.
- Written-In Absence: Optimus mentions having sent Airazor to look for the others in a different grid.
- You Fool!: After the Predacons' new missile hits the energon instead of the Maximals.Dinobot: You missed.
Scorponok: Did I? Look again, you fool! - You're Insane!: Dinobot's reaction to Rhinox saying they have to try to get back to base while blind.
