The Avengers find that their fallen friend is actually alive. After the rescue, however, Red Skull and MODOK devise a backup plan that involves fighting the heroes at their doorstep.

- Cliffhanger Copout: Tony’s demise is rendered a Disney Death when a new Arc Reactor is installed in his body.
- The Fellowship Has Ended: Tony tries disbanding the Avengers once more after Cap is safe. Foregone Conclusion means it doesn’t take.
