Chapter 12
Tapu Koko interrupts Hala's quiet morning to warn him to prepare for trouble around Ash. Turning on the TV, the news reports the arrival of Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza and the panic of the island's citizens. Hala takes up the purple gem that Tapu Koko left him and plans to visit Ash.
Ash and company make their way to the beach, most of them nervous, which changes to all of them when they see which Legendary Pokémon are there to meet them. Rayquaza quickly clarifies that he's there to keep the immature other two in line. Kyogre gives his gift first, crafting an item similar to the Blue Orb called the Blue Marble; a quick demonstration with Donphan shows that it greatly amplifies its holder's power and grants them the Water type. Groudon gives a similar item, the Red Marble, which grants its holder the Fire type, and then imparts the knowledge of its signature move, Precipice Blades, to all of Ash's Ground-types—Donphan, Torterra, Gliscor, Garchomp, Seismitoad, and Krookodile. Kyogre finishes by giving its own move, Origin Pulse, to all of Ash's Water-types—Squirtle, Totodile, Kingler, Corphish, Buizel, Oshawott, Seismitoad (again), Lapras, and Greninja. With their gifts delivered, Rayquaza shoos them away before they can start fighting, leaving Ash to explain what just happened to his friends.
Meanwhile, in the Hoenn region, Serena is kidnapped from her dressing room by something mysterious and white.
