Summary

Yellow, armed with King's staff, makes the finishing touches to his latest build, one that spans a long distance with lots of rail and various obstacles and whatnots as part of a special minecart race.

On the surface, Blue, Red, Green, and Second Coming make their last preparations for the race; Red has a boat, animal spawn eggs and golden carrots, Blue pulls out some recently brewed potions, Green packs in a fishing rod and a trident, and Second Coming loads his inventory with a flint and steel, lots of minecarts and a few stacks of TNT blocks. Each racer heads to their cart and Yellow flags them off.

The first stretch of the race has all four racers thundering down the beginning slope. Red pulls out a wood spade and uses it to push himself and his cart down the slope faster, with everyone else following suit. The end of the slope approaches quickly, with the force of the impact shaking Second Coming. Seeing he is beginning to lag behind the others, Second Coming places a series of minecarts in front of his own, but it ends up attracting Red and Green who duke it out with him to be first. The scuffle is ended when Blue launches a TNT block to the three brawlers interrupting their fight with Blue taking the lead. As the others watch, Blue taunts them over being left behind, only to suddenly fall into a water pool.

The four racers, now underwater, attempt to gain speed by flailing their arms, but Green has an alternative; he pulls out his enchanted trident and shoots ahead of the competition, but get caught by surprise by a sudden drop. As the others look on in shock, Green uses his trident's water traversing powers to rocket out of the waterfall. Blue catches to a vine to swing to the tracks, Red barely attempts Blue's trick and Second Coming uses his TNT block to shoot himself over a long distance to second place.

Green is in the lead, challenging his competitors to come at him. Second Coming responds by using a firework to gain speed and steal the lead, but Green pulls out his fishing rod to hamper his attempts, resulting in a fight for first place. Red and Blue catch up to the leading racers and join the fray as well. Suddenly, Yellow interrupts the fight, alerting the four racers of a split in the track, one going up and another going down. The racers resume their brawl with Green and Second Coming taking the upper track and Red and Blue taking the lower track.

Green and Second Coming traverse through a stretch of rail with increasingly long gaps, followed by some parkour on some dripleaf plants (which Green uses) and overhead vines to swing across (which Second Coming uses to get ahead of Green). Their next section features a complex arrangement of rail which both make across, fighting with each other in the process from Green's creative use of his fishing rod, to Second Coming's TNT deployment and firework boosters.

Meanwhile, Red and Blue are in an icy part of the race. Red notices the ice beside the tracks and uses his boat and oars to get ahead of Blue, who does likewise in a bid to catch up to Red, only to get pelted with snow from Red scooping it from the ground. As both racers see the end of the road, they hop back on their carts, but Blue blows Red off his cart with a crossbow-fired firework, momentarily stunning Red. Red pulls out his horse spawn egg and uses his steed to catch up to Blue, who ends up getting a taste of his own firework. This delay is temporary, as Blue swigs some Potions of Swiftness to overtake Red, who gives his horse a golden carrot to make his horse go faster.

Green and Second Coming go off the edge; while falling, they engage each other to get to the ground first with Red and Blue joining them. Red pulls out some rope and a chicken spawn egg, throwing the two at Blue, who is left struggling to free himself from the chicken which is slowing down his fall. Green and Second Coming also share Blue's predicament despite attempting to dodge Red's attack, leaving Red free to place his own chicken and rope just before he and his horse hit the ground below and enter the last leg of the race unhindered.

Green, using a slime block to bounce himself to the end, Blue, using some more potions to help him survive his fall and increase his own speed further, and Second Coming, still using his chicken and some fireworks to propel himself forward above the competition, chase after Red, leading to a free-for-all derby for first place with more slime blocks, fireworks, TNT, a trident, a fishing rod, some bee spawn eggs, two more chickens, and one last minecart all getting used to steal and/or maintain their lead. As Yellow cheers them on, the four racers charge into the finish line, seemingly at the same time, to Yellow's astonishment.

Yellow struggles to determine who crossed the finish line first when Green declares himself the winner. The other racers also do the same and end up fighting over who won. Still confused, but wanting to stop the argument, Yellow changes the podium and makes everyone a winner, but Green, Red, Blue and Second Coming are not happy with Yellow's judgement as they want a definitive answer.

Tropes:

  • Art Evolution: As of this episode, tools such as the crossbow are given a slightly more three-dimensional look when held at angles.
  • Catch and Return: Red, having been blown off his cart by Blue's firework crossbow, catches up to Blue and dodges his fireworks, catching and returning Blue's last shot towards him.
  • Deconstruction: Of the "Everyone wins and we all had fun" concept. As a way to get Red, Green, The Second Coming and Blue to stop fighting over the first-place trophy, Yellow creates three more first-place trophies, hoping they would stop fighting. They toss away their trophies in anger, because they want a definitive winner.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: The audience can get a good look at what the participants put in their inventory for the race before they actually use them. In particular, it can be seen that the Second Coming and Green have several minecarts unlike Red and Blue, who continued to race through riding mobs and drinking potions respectively after losing their minecarts.
  • Le Parkour: Green and Second Coming's track sees them traversing through some plant-based platforming, with Green using the lily pads to get ahead and Second Coming swinging through vines to overtake Green.
  • Repeat Cut: The part where Second Coming, Green, Red and Blue cross the finish line gets shown multiple times, with the last time going in slow motion to try to figure out who crossed the line first.
  • Rocket Jump: How Second Coming gets himself out of the water. He uses the shockwave from of block of TNT and a shield to launch himself back in the race.
  • Serial Escalation: The race, which was supposed to be one that involves minecarts, gradually shifts from trying to get the lead by going faster, to a free-for-all brawl while racing, to an actual race using everything they have in their inventories.
  • Shown Their Work: Red uses a boat and oars to traverse on the ice beside the rails to get ahead of Blue, managing to overtake him. This feature is also seen in Minecraft itself.
  • Super-Speed: Blue downs some Potions of Swiftness to increase his running speed and catch up to Red on his horse. By the last leg of the race, Blue's speed is so high, that he immediately takes off.
