- Eye Scream: The kraken is distracted long enough for Stumpy to land the final blow by Anne squirting lemon juice in its eye.
- Fly in the Soup: Inverted. Duckweed berates Stumpy for serving him a bowl of soup with a single fly in it...when it should have dozens of them.
- Giant Squid: Anne tries to serve a kraken to Duckweed. It's still alive when it's served and attacks the restaurant guests.
- Greasy Spoon: Subverted. Stumpy's starts out as a dingy diner with unappetizing food. Thanks to Anne, it becomes the most popular restaurant in town.
- Hard-Work Montage: Anne and Stumpy cleaning up the restaurant. Lampshaded by Anne playing a "Hard Work Montage" playlist on her phone.
- Hidden Depths: Anne proves to be a good chef, thanks to having worked at her parents' Thai restaurant. When she redoes the menu at Stumpy's as a frog/Thai fusion, the place becomes a big success.
- I Am Not Weasel: Anne calls Duckweed a lizard. Duckweed is a newt.
- New Job Episode: Anne gets a job at a place called Stumpy's Diner and turns it into a frog/Thai-fusion restaurant.
- Not Quite Dead: The kraken that Anne and Stumpy planned to serve to Duckweed was just out cold.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Anne was shown in previous episodes to be ignoring the dishes she had to wash at Hop Pop's house. Here, after some trial and error with the hose, she and Stumpy happily work together to clean the dishes and remove all the grime from the restaurant.
- Portmanteau: The title is one for "lily pad" and "pad thai." A dish served at the restaurant shares this name.
- Pre Ass Kicking One Liner: “Pad see ew you later!”
- Restored My Faith in Humanity: As Anne adds her own personal touches to the restaurant, Stumpy slowly warms up to her and regains his pride as a chef.
- Russian Reversal: Duckweed is ultimately impressed at a meal trying to eat him.
- She Cleans Up Nicely: Anne looks really nice in her Thai dress. She also gets a new hairstyle, free of all the forest debris.
- Straw Critic: Duckweed lives to have Stumpy's closed down. When Anne revitalizes it and her food becomes a big hit, Duckweed still plans to give it a bad review, likely out of spite.
