Go To

Francine becomes less attracted to Stan when he gets involved with slot car racing. Things get worse when Francine thinks Stan is cheating on her with a younger woman. Meanwhile, Roger becomes a stewardess who performs stand-up comedy, but he ends up getting upstaged by a prettier, funnier flight attendant.

Tropes:

  • Compressed Vice: This episode shows that Stan has a hobby of slot car racing, and he becomes a massively uncool nerd while doing so.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Francine's "friends" suggesting she seduce Steve to make Stan jealous is what makes her realize this has gone too far and she gives them up.
  • Gargle Blaster: Francine's private reserve is strong enough to leave her incoherent and hallucinating a group of friends. Justified, as it is actually a mix of dangerous chemicals.
  • Hypocrite: Francine is especially guilty of this. When she believes Stan is having an affair behind her back, she's furious and goes to confront him at the CIA, only to find he has merely taken up the hobby of slot car racing. Rather than being relieved, she finds herself less attracted to her husband and admits she likes the idea of other women finding Stan desirable because it feels to her like she has "[her] very own Hemsworth."
  • Imaginary Friend: Francine has a bunch of them who manifest whenever she's drunk on her "private reserve." She listens to their advice throughout the episode but finally stops after one of them suggests she seduce Steve to make Stan jealous. After smashing the jar of her "private reserve," said friends turn demonic and get sucked into Hell.
  • Intoxication Ensues: Francine spends this episode regularly getting plastered on something she calls her "private reserve," which gets her so drunk it causes hallucinations and renders her incoherent. She later admits it's fertilizer and Windex.
  • Pass the Popcorn: Klaus enjoys watching Francine hallucinate, drinking the wine she poured for her "friends" while she babbles incoherently before passing out.
  • Splitting Pants: A running gag of Stan's loser qualities is the fact that his pants keep splitting. At one point, they rip while he's simply sitting, to Francine's confusion. Stan can only shrug, "I've got a weird ass."
  • Through the Eyes of Madness: Francine's "friends" are only present whenever she gets drunk on her "private reserve." From her point of view, she's talking coherently. From everyone else's point of view, she's a drooling, mumbling idiot.
  • Weight Taller: A gag has Klaus experimenting with steroids, having bulked his body up to from a goldfish to a buff humanoid fish.
