Continuity Nod: Mike referring back to the lesson he learned in the 1973 episode "The Games Bunkers Play." Then, Edith stood up for Archie, telling Mike that he is jealous of him for having more opportunities than he did. This time, the shoe is on Mike's foot: He tells Edith that now he has an opportunity to realize the American dream and he needs her unconditional support.
Hilarity Ensues: The entire point of the episode's resolution, particularly after Mike talks Edith out of filing charges of forgery and identity theft against her husband for putting "her" signature on the mortgage application. Then again, in the real world, the bank certainly would — especially in this day and age — file charges against Archie anyway for forgery, fraud and identity theft, with or without asking Edith.
Story Arc: Begins a storyline, lasting roughly the coming month, about Archie buying Kelsey's Bar and the challenges he overcomes in making his new venture successful.
