Recap / After War Gundam X 03 My Steed Is Vicious

Go To

Tiffa stops screaming and passes out. The Freeden approaches, and Garrod tries to fire the Satellite Cannon at it, but it needs time to recharge. Jamil gets on the Freeden's deck and uses a grappling hook to rappel himself to the GX's cockpit, which he unlocks, taking Garrod and Tiffa prisoner.

Back on the Freeden, Doctor Techs Farzenberg rushes Tiffa to the med bay and advises Jamil that, while Tiffa's condition is stable, it would be best for her if the Freeden avoids battle until she recovers. Garrod demands that Jamil return Tiffa to him. Jamil explains that Tiffa passed out because she telepathically sensed the fear and pain of all the people she helped Garrod kill and it overwhelmed her. Garrod tries to attack Jamil, but he knocks Garrod out with a single punch and orders Witz and Roabea to take him to the brig.

A mysterious man named Shagia Frost attacks the Alternative Company in his Gundam Virsago to demand that Von Alternative meet with him. Alternative reluctantly agrees. Shagia tells Alternative that he knows that this facility is a lab where the Alternative Company was studying Tiffa Adill to determine whether she was a Newtype, and that he also knows that the Freeden abducted Tiffa a week prior. Shagia wants Alternative to hire him to get Tiffa back. Alternative tries pulling a gun on Shagia, but he knocks the gun out of his hands by flinging a chess piece at it. Alternative agrees to hire Shagia.

In the Freeden's brig, Garrod pulls out a lockpick and a straw he concealed on his person. He uses the lockpick to unlock his cell door, and uses the straw to blow knock out gas into Shingo's eyes. When Shingo comes to, Garrod is back in his cell like nothing happened. In the medbay, Techs notices that someone got Tiffa flowers. He attempts to get rid off the flowers, but Jamil stops him.

The Freeden comes across the mobile armor Ashtaron being attacked by another Vulture. When the Vulture notices the Freeden, some of its mobile suits go to attack the Freeden as well. Jamil orders Witz and Roabea to launch and brings Garrod up to the bridge so he can see how professional Gundam pilots fight. Witz and Roabea annhiliate the enemy forces. The Ashtaron's pilot, Olba, is very grateful and agrees to repay the Freeden by joining its crew.

In the middle of the night, Jamil and Techs speak in the medbay about Tiffa's gradually improving condition. Jamil notices the flowers next to Tiffa are fresh. Outside the Freeden, Garrod finishes picking new flowers and is about to sneak back into his cell when he runs into Jamil, who wants to know why Garrod hasn't taken the opportunity to escape. Garrod says that he refuses to leave without Tiffa because he's in love with her. Meanwhile, Olba telepathically helps his older twin brother Shagia cheat at playing chess with Alternative. He then sneaks into the medbay and injects Tiffa with a poison.

  • Decoy Damsel: Olba arranges for the Freeden to save his life so he can gain the trust of her crew and poison Tiffa.
  • The Man Behind the Man: Von Alternative is revealed to be the one behind Rike Anto's attempt to use Garrod to kidnap Tiffa back in the first episode.
  • Mundane Utility: The Frost Brothers use their Twin Telepathy to cheat at chess.
  • Title Drop: This episode's title comes from the chess metaphor Shagia uses to boast to Alternative.
