Jake's daughter Viola is up for a role in a play by a hot new director — Lumpy Space Princess.
- Actor/Role Confusion: Mr. Cupcake can't get the hang of calling Tree Trunks by her character's name, thinking it's dishonest to call her by anything but her real name.
- A Day in the Limelight: For Viola, both in the episode and in the Show Within a Show.
- Apologetic Attacker: Viola offers an angry and insincere "I'm sorry!" before teleporting Lumpy Space Princess away.
- Crazy Jealous Guy: Mr. Pig flips out when he learns Tree Trunks is going to have a kissing scene with Mr. Cupcake, and Tree Trunks drops out of the show to mollify him.
- The Dog Bites Back: After LSP makes Viola her personal assistant for her upcoming play and constantly pushes her around, Viola finally has enough after Tree Trunks drops out of the play and LSP decides to fill in (despite Viola already knowing the part by heart), teleporting LSP away so she can take part in the show. Bonus points for Viola being part dog.
- Humanity's Wake: Summer Showers seems to have been derived from Pre-Mushroom War British dramas, with LSP referring to the setting as "Eeng-land" and the rest of the cast having no idea what she's talking about.
- Maintain the Lie: Viola can't bring herself to tell Jake that she's not acting in the play. When Tree Trunks can't perform and LSP takes her place in the play rather than Viola (who knows the part by heart), Viola has enough and teleports LSP away and takes over the role. In the end, she confesses to Jake, who is genuinely impressed by her backstage work.
- Multiboobage: LSP at one point makes Viola do her laundry, and on one of the wires there's a three-breasted bra very clearly visible.
- Prima Donna Director: LSP, naturally. She berates Viola for not getting the raindrops on the actor's clothing right and locks her out on the roof during a rainstorm so she can get them right.
