Side Despair #03: A Farewell to All Futures (ての未来にさよならを)

Hinata finds another Reserve Course student who dreams of joining the Main Course - and who is willing to take drastic measures to get there.

or, Hajime is stuck between a rock and a hard place with this new student and the Kamukura Project.

  • All for Nothing: Chiaki, Chisa, and Tengan almost successfully convinced Hajime that everything is okay, but later, it was backfired because of Juzo Sakakura's treatment caused Hajime to go through the Kamukura Project instead of being a normal person.
  • Bad Boss: Juzo Sakakura is shown to be very useless, irresponsible, and neglecful at being the head of security at Hope's Peak.
  • Despair Event Horizon: While Chiaki, Chisa, and Tengan did everything they could to convince Hajime that normalcy is okay, Sakakura delivers his Breaking Speech to Hajime to prevent him from investigating thoroughly. But that beatdown and speech fully convince Hajime to go through with the Kamukura Project.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: Natsumi's sole motivation for enrolling at Hope's Peak. She wants to have exceptional talent just like her brother.
  • Jerkass: No Juzo Sakakura, you don't deserve to get a "Character of the Year" award after you beat the crap out of Hajime Hinata, then you gave him a Breaking Speech, and then you made him change his mind by causing him into going on a Kamukura Project.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: While Sakakura wanted to prevent Hajime from being caught in a crossfire that might result in him getting silenced or worse by Hope's Peak, his Breaking Speech and subsequent assault provide the final catalyst for Hajime going through with the Kamakura Project.
  • Police Brutality: Sakakura is still the head of security of Hope's Peak, but he often uses violence towards Hajime Hinata.
  • Start of Darkness: Hajime Hinata comes up from a Nice Guy into a Knight of Cerebus, and it's all thanks to Juzo Sakakura.
