Despite its TV-G (later TV-PG) rating, it's more adult than the original series, probably helped by it being on the more lenient Netflix rather than network television.

- Stephanie's very low cut top in the pilot, and her remark to baby Tommy.They may look like lunch, but this Dairy Queen's closed.
- Stephanie is also fond of "special" brownies.
- Kimmy's ex-husband calls her "a master of the Kama Sutra" in the pilot.
- In the fifth episode, a man at a club refers to brothers and sisters meeting at a club as "kinky hot".
- When DJ is presented with the idea of changing in an Uber car, she gets modest and says, "What if Uber sees my boobers?", which then Joey replies with "Then you don't have to tip!"
- In episode 9, Stephanie mentions her old "husband" Harry Takayama, and mentions that he's fun in bed, which shocks Becky... until Stephanie clarifies that they used to love jumping back and forth on beds together.
- In the season finale, Kimmy mentions a "Kimmy Special" for Jesse and Becky's vow-renewal ceremony, and Becky follows it up by saying that she can't wait to give Jesse "the Becky Special". Jesse doesn't get it at first but is shocked when Becky explains it to him.
- Later in the episode, when Becky comes back with DJ, Kimmy, and Stephanie, all of them extremely drunk, Jesse complains about the lack of romance between them and says that he'll have to give himself the Becky Special.
- There is some mild implications that Stephanie Really Gets Around. When she comes home at 8 in the morning, DJ outright asks her if she's doing the Walk of Shame.
- Jackson asks Jesse for advice on flirting with Lola, so Jesse offers some advice while demonstrating on Tommy. After kissing the hand, Jesse blows a raspberry on Tommy's stomach. Confused, Jackson asks if blowing on her belly would actually work, while Jesse admits it is a rather advanced move.
- Lola tells Ramona that she has cramps, then receives a congratulatory hug. Lola clarifies her statement, saying that she has leg cramps.
- When she gets tickets to New Kids on the Block, DJ responds with three "Oh Mylanta!"s as loudly as humanly possible. Stephanie's response is that she hasn't heard one of those since DJ's wedding night.
- On the same episode, we get this scene before Matt comes back:
