Playing With / Warm Bloodbags Are Everywhere

Go To

  • Basic Trope: A character finds it difficult to live in a location where their natural food source is everywhere.
  • Straight: Bob is a vampire. He has a very hard time restraining himself when he sees people wearing shirts that do not cover their necks.
  • Exaggerated:
    • When Bob sees any living organism, he feels a sudden urge to bite and feed on it.
    • Bob tackles anyone who wears a shirt that exposes their neck on sight.
    • Bob suffers from Pica, a rare disorder where one eats inanimate objects or things that are otherwise considered inedible.
  • Downplayed: This only happens to Bob when he is desperately hungry.
  • Justified:
    • Bob is aware of the negative stigma surrounding vampires; he does not want people to figure out what he is.
    • Bob hates being a vampire, no matter how much his body tells him otherwise.
  • Inverted:
  • Subverted: Bob tries to restrain himself, but gives into his desires.
  • Double Subverted: He has a My God, What Have I Done? moment after he accidentally kills someone from massive blood loss and relents.
  • Parodied: Bob gets Meat-O-Vision whenever he sees a human's neck.
  • Zig-Zagged: Bob's ability to stop himself from providing himself with the sustenance he requires depends on how long it has been since his last meal.
  • Averted: Bob is a Vegetarian Vampire.
    • Bob has great self-control.
  • Enforced: The writers know that there are several Vampire Vannabe's who love Bob, so they want to give them a reality check by emphasizing the negative aspects.
  • Lampshaded:
    "Why does Bob look so...crazy?"
"Because he's trying not to go on a feeding frenzy."
  • Invoked:
  • Exploited: The Hero uses Bob's hunger to his advantage, unleashing the hungry Bob on the Big Bad.
  • Defied: Bob commits Suicide by Sunlight.
  • Discussed:
  • Conversed:
  • Deconstructed: Bob's constant attempts at restraining himself renders him weak and vulnerable to hunters.
  • Reconstructed: Bob finds a few friendly, non-judgmental friends who love him for who he is. They act as Voluntary Vampire Victims to him, and turn him into a Friendly Neighborhood Vampire.
  • Played For Laughs: Bob is harassed by Vampire Vannabe's who know what he is on a daily basis. Despite his constant warnings that being a vampire sucks, they still don't leave him alone.
