    • Carol is The Night Owl. She's not a morning (or day for that matter) person, and she works way better at night.

    • Carol's alarm clock is showing the wrong time; she seems to wake up an hour late, but she's actually on time.
    • Carol has trouble getting out of bed, but it's revealed that she's sick.
  • Double Subverted: Carol is actually just Playing Sick so she doesn't need to get up early.
  • Zig Zagged: Carol sometimes has trouble getting out of bed on time, but sometimes not.
  • Inverted: Carol is at her best during the morning.
  • Averted: Carol has no problems getting out of bed on time, and manages her mornings well.

  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: A coworker who has it out for Carol makes sure she’s assigned a task that will require her to come in early, hoping her poor morning attitude will reflect badly on her.
  • Defied: Bob calls Carol in the morning to ensure she wakes up.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Implied: While Carol's roommate Sam is usually seen awake early, Carol herself doesn't pop up until noon, head full of Messy Hair and a coffee cup in hand.
  • Deconstructed: Carol's issues with mornings limit her employment options, since most of society starts operating early on the morning.
  • Reconstructed: Carol finds a job that lets her work during evenings.
  • Played For Laughs: Carol's issues with mornings is a Running Gag.
  • Played For Drama: Carol has severe sleeping problems that result in this, and she loses her job as a result.
