Basic Trope: Someone correctly assesses that someone else is okay, even though they have no way of knowing that they are.
- Straight: Bob falls off a cliff. Alice says, "He'll be fine", and he actually does turn up alive a few moments later.
- Exaggerated: Bob was very clearly reduced to being Deader than Dead. Alice insists that He's Just Hiding, and she's somehow right.
- Downplayed: Bob appears dead, but Alice says that he's just sleeping/unconscious, and she's right.
- Justified:
- Alice didn't believe that Bob was actually dead.
- Clap Your Hands If You Believe: Alice saying Bob isn't dead actually did bring him back to life.
- Inverted: Alice announces that Bob is going to die, who then drops dead immediately.
- Subverted: There's a Hope Spot after Bob dies, where Alice thinks he'll come back... but he doesn't.
- Double Subverted: However, he suddenly returns with no explanation a few scenes later.
- Parodied: During Bob's Disney Death, Alice says "You're a main character, you won't actually die! Get your ass up!"
- Zig-Zagged: ???
- Averted: Bob dies and remains dead.
- Enforced: "Let's have Alice say something that ends up being true."
- Lampshaded: ???
- Invoked: Alice and Bob placed a Inflatable Fall Arrestment Unit (AKA stunt airbag) underneath the cliff.
- Exploited: ???
- Defied: ???
- Discussed: ???
- Conversed: ???
