Basic Trope: Zombies that are friendly.
- Straight: Zach the zombie lives in the neighborhood and is a pretty nice guy to be around.
- Exaggerated:
- Zombies are Always Lawful Good. Even the most horrible people can be infected with The Virus, and they'll come out as nice people.
- Zach is an All-Loving Hero. Besides the occasional staggering gait and green skin, you might not even be able to tell he is a zombie.
- Downplayed: Zach is mostly a Jerk with a Heart of Gold.
- Justified:
- Zombies in this setting don't have to eat people, and retain their minds, so it makes sense that a zombie could be a good person.
- Zach was a good guy even before becoming a zombie, and stayed as one through Heroic Willpower.
- Zach is controlled by a friendly Voodoo practitioner.
- In this setting, undeath has no effect on the zombified characters' minds, so after a brief adjustment period, Zach remains as friendly and affable as he was while alive.
- Inverted: Evil zombies.
- Subverted: Zach only seems to be nice... he's actually The Mole, and was only trying to be friendly in order to infiltrate the heroes and infect them.
- Double Subverted: ...Which was a rumor that someone made up. Zach isn't actually evil.
- Parodied: Zach is only a friendly zombie because he's too lazy to bite someone... unless someone puts their fingers inside his mouth.

- Whether or not zombies are friendly seems to depend on the individual.
