- Exaggerated: Captain Diamond masters the powers of super strength, telekinesis and X-Ray vision within a matter of months but takes well over a decade to master the power of flight.
- Downplayed: Captain Diamond learns to fly shortly after mastering his other powers.
- Justified:
- Captain Diamond is the first superhuman with the ability to fly, and has no one to instruct him on how to do it.
- Flight is a very difficult ability where one wrong move could result in a horrific death and must be learned gradually and carefully.
- Inverted: Captain Diamond learns to fly before mastering his other powers.
