- Downplayed: Alice dies within about three days; technically possible in real life, but extremely rare.
- Alice gets hit with a dose of radiation, and immediately develops radiation sickness, but does not die.
- Alice was exposed to a nuclear reactor in full meltdown, and drops dead a few hours later.
- Justified: Alice was hit with a large dose of radiation, so naturally it would start acting fast.
- Inverted: Alice gets hit with a ridiculous dose of radiation, but shrugs it off.
- Subverted: Alice looks like she's going to die, but doesn't.
- Double Subverted: The next day, however...
- Parodied: Alice goes out into the Sun; she dies within the second.
- Zig-Zagged: The radiation sometimes kills people fast, sometimes not.
