Basic Trope: Goats are Extreme Omnivores.

  • Straight: Gertrude the goat often eats tin cans and other garbage.
  • Exaggerated: Gertrude can even eat non-tangible items.
  • Downplayed:
    • Gertrude has a tendency to chew on almost anything, but she doesn't necessarily eat it.
    • Most of what Gertrude eats is still edible, but she still eats things that most animals wouldn't eat.
  • Justified:
    • Truth in Television, to an extent; goats will often try to eat non-edible items.
    • Gertrude isn't an ordinary goat, and therefore is able to eat items that a regular goat couldn't.
  • Inverted: Goats are Picky Eaters.
  • Subverted: ???
  • Double Subverted: ???
  • Parodied: ???
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted: There are no goats in the work.
  • Enforced: ???
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: Gertrude is able to clean up a polluted area by eating all of the garbage.
  • Defied: The farmer avoids letting Gertrude get near any non-food items.
  • Discussed: "You better be careful where you put your stuff around this farm, or the goat will eat it."
  • Conversed: "Cartoons tend to portray goats as being able to eat anything, can they really do that in real life?"
  • Played for Laughs: Gertrude makes a stunt out of eating anything and everything she can.
  • Played for Drama: Gertrude eats something plot-relevant, such as the Macguffin.
  • Played for Horror: Gertrude is a Gruesome Goat who tries to eat anything in her path... which may even include the main characters.
