Basic Trope: Someone not only has perfect dental health, but also pearly-white teeth.

  • Straight: Bob's teeth are white and look like an angel brushed them.
  • Exaggerated: Bob's teeth are "Vantawhite"note  and glow.
  • Downplayed:
    • Bob's teeth are light-grey and don't shine, but they're still unusually clean.
    • Bob's teeth are white, but they're uneven, just not flat-out crooked.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted:
    • Bob's teeth are so black and unhealthy that it's a wonder how he hasn't lost them.
    • Bob's teeth are naturally black for some reason.
  • Subverted:
    • Bob's teeth look good, but they're porcelain teeth.
    • Bob photoshopped his teeth to look amazing on his selfies, but when you meet him in-person, he's average.
  • Double Subverted:
    • Bob's whole body is also made of porcelain, so those teeth are his natural teeth.
  • Parodied:
    • Bob looks hideous, but his teeth are beautiful.
    • Bob's teeth are white because he paints them with pearls, or his teeth are literal pearls.
  • Zig Zagged: Bob's teeth are like onions with layers of various colors: when he brushes his teeth, they regenerate layers and take on a random color.
  • Averted: Bob's teeth are imperfect.
  • Enforced:
    • The writers wanted to make Bob look handsome by focusing on his teeth.
    • It's a commercial for toothpaste/toothbrushes.
  • Lampshaded: "How do your teeth look amazing?"
  • Invoked:
    • Bob brushes his teeth to perfection for weeks, and he did a great job.
    • A spell made his teeth white.
  • Exploited: Bob gains a lot of respect for his teeth.
  • Defied: Bob is too lazy to brush his teeth properly.
  • Discussed: "Who knows when toothpaste will make your teeth pearly-white?"
  • Conversed: (the audience:) "Is this a Product Placement for toothpaste?"
  • Implied: Bob's teeth only look white when viewed in a certain way that the audience doesn't, and characters compliment his teeth sometimes.
  • Deconstructed:
    • Alice, jealous of Bob's teeth, tries to brush her teeth like she thinks he did, only for her gums to bleed from excessive brushing.
    • People harrass Bob with questions about how he brushed his teeth.
  • Reconstruction:
    • When everyone knows how Bob brushes his teeth, people have fun with their new teeth.
  • Played For Laughs: Bob's teeth make Emperor Evulz go blind from how shiny they are.
  • Played for Drama: Bob thought that having good teeth would make him attractive, but people treat him like an alien for his teeth being too good.
  • Played for Horror:
    • The way to make your teeth as perfect as Bob's is painful Body Horror, and he had to experience it too.
    • Unusually white teeth are played as an in-universe case of Uncanny Valley.
    • Bob is actually something just pretending to be human, the unusually white teeth is the result of Glamour Failure.
  • Plotted a Good Waste: Bob is the only character with white teeth to show that he's The Protagonist.
  • Plot Foundation: The story is about Bob being born with pearly-white teeth and how he's been living with them.
