Basic Trope: Opposite/mismatched elements in a character's design that are Foreshadowing to or reinforce a character's contrasting powers or alternate personalities.
- Straight:
- Allera's dress is split in half with one side containing fiery elements and the other being more ice-based. It matches her Playing with Fire and An Ice Person powers well.
- Rashan has one of his arms unmarked, while the other has various tattoos and long nails. It suits how he can summon his spirit animal lion and how it takes control over him when it's active.
- Exaggerated:
- Allera has half of her appearance look heated and the other look cold.
- Rashan is dressed in a suit on one side and like a Mountain Man on the other.
- Downplayed:
- Allera wears bracelets of fire red to the left and ice blue to the right.
- Rashan has one side of his teeth look sharper than the other.

- Allera wears her half-flaming half-icy dress... but all she can do is provide support from the sides.
- Rashan can summon a lion that can take control of him... but wears just a normal white tank top and jeans.

- Allera's dress shows off her pyro- and cryokinesis, but she can also control plants as well.
- Rashan's tattoo fits his power of summoning his lion, but he admits he doesn't like it and plans to remove them.

- She decides to sticks to what she knows however, so her plant powers don't get used that much.
- Alternately, she decides to get a new dress with a green center to show off this new power.
- Rashan's wild side however reveals he's not planning to remove them in the slightest and was the reason they were on his body.
- Parodied:
- Allera wears a thermometer-outfit that shows both a high temperature and a low one.
- Rashan is tatted up on his right but refuses to ink his left.
- Averted: Allera and Rashan don't have anything special about them that shows their dual natures.
- Enforced:
- "It would be a waste for Allera's dress to highlight one of her powers, we need to do both!"
- "It shouldn't be too much of a surprise when we reveal what Rashan can do. Maybe if we put tattoos on his right arm it will clue observant viewers about it."
- Implied: Allera and Rashan aren't shown using their powers, but they are seen often enough in combat to suggest this.
- Lampshaded: "Notice how those two look like they have two different concepts? Yeah, you'll see why soon enough."

- People in their world stick to an Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance, and Allera didn't want to pass on it.
- Rashan had the tattoos on as a Marked Change since they glow when his lion is active.
- Exploited: The commander of The Empire recognizes Allera's dress as a clue to her powers, and tells his troops to target her first.
- Defied: Rashan doesn't like his wilder side and decides to hand this power off to someone else.
