Basic Trope: A character takes the shape of something they've swallowed.

  • Straight: Bob swallows a canoe, and Bob's belly takes the shape of a canoe.
  • Exaggerated: Bob swallows a skyscraper, and takes the shape of a skyscraper.
  • Downplayed: Bob swallows a banana. His throat takes the shape of a banana.
  • Justified: Bob has snakelike anatomy which allows his body to stretch and morph around anything he eats.
  • Inverted:
    • Anything Bob eats takes the shape of Bob.
    • Another organism eats Bob and takes his shape, uniquely among the things it's eaten.
  • Subverted: Bob swallows something much larger than himself, planning to take its shape, but nothing happens.
  • Double Subverted: It just took some time. A few hours on, Bob takes the shape of the thing he ate.
  • Parodied: Bob swallows a bolt of lightning. His body takes the lightning bolt's apparent shape.
  • Zig-Zagged: Bob's body takes the shapes of some but not all things he eats. Also, when he does this relative to swallowing varies depending on the circumstances and item.
  • Averted: Bob doesn't eat anything larger than his face.
  • Enforced: "It's just funny to see someone's body take the shape of whatever they ate."
  • Lampshaded: "Hey, Bob, have you ever thought about chewing your food?"
  • Invoked: Bob participates in a Mad Scientist's experiment to fuse human and python DNA.
  • Exploited: This is how Alice finds out that Bob has been eating her possessions.
  • Defied: Bob is hungry enough to eat large objects that are around him, but he waits until he can eat real food.
  • Discussed: Bob: "So, the other day, I peeled a grapefruit and stuffed it down my throat in an attempt to commit suicide. Somehow, I swallowed it, but I went around with a grapefruit-sized lump in my stomach for a few days afterwards."
  • Conversed: "That can't be good for Bob."
  • Implied: Bob was last seen eating and now he has a very bizarre shape in his stomach.
  • Deconstructed: Eating things this way, not to mention eating such large things, is bad for Bob.
  • Reconstructed: He doesn't eat things that are too large and he always lets his body keep its normal shape for at least as long as it needs to heal.
  • Played for Laughs: This is Bob's main party trick.
  • Played for Drama: People tease Bob for this.
  • Played for Horror: Bob eats people, and parts of other people can be seen in his stomach at any given time when somebody else passes by him.
