Basic Trope: Mascot costumes or masks are portrayed as creepy, antagonistic, or both.

  • Straight: The Tropeworthington the Tiger suit is alive and hungry.
  • Exaggerated: All mascot suits and masks are linked to Eldritch Abominations; even picking one up for a second is tempting the suit to drive you mad or give you a Fate Worse than Death.
  • Downplayed: The Tropeworthington the Tiger suit is alive and has slightly dark sense of humor.
  • Justified: ???
  • Inverted: ???
  • Subverted: The Tropeworthington the Tiger suit gets a lot of shots with creepy music during the movie...but nothing ever actually happens.
  • Double Subverted:...Until the last shot, when it's revealed Tropeworthington is alive and evil.
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Parodied: Someone finds a list near Tropeworthington titled What I Will Do If I am Ever an Evil Mascot Suit.
  • Lampshaded:
Bob: Those suits just give me the shivers. They always have something wrong about them.
  • Enforced: Originally, the author just wrote the Tropeworthington suit as a set piece, but the producer thought they needed another villain and made him rewrite it as evil.
  • Invoked: Dr. Evilstein mass-produces mascot suits with mind-control mechanisms.
  • Exploited: Dr. Evilstein knows the mascot suits are evil and plans to use them to Take Over the World.
  • Defied: The people who make the Tropeworthington suit make sure to use only materials that are untouched by evil and only let the most innocent possible people wear it so that no one can taint the suit.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: "This new horror movie, Unmasked, sure is giving us a lot of shots of the mascot suit. I'll bet it's either worn by the villain or it is the villain."

Back in Creepy Mascot Suit, you can buy your very own Tropeworthington mask! Trope Co is not responsible for anything that might happen in the store or after you take it home.
