Basic Trope: A crossdresser is portrayed as weird and creepy.

  • Straight: Bob dresses as a woman, and his clothing and makeup make him look very frightening and weird.
  • Exaggerated: Bob dresses as a woman, and it turns into a Brown Note.
  • Downplayed: Bob's crossdressing is mildly creepy, but it's not hard to get used to.
  • Justified:
    • Bob doesn't know how to dress as a woman, and he gets it wrong in a very unsettling way.
    • Bob is intentionally crossdressing badly in an attempt to be funny but it just comes off as creepy instead.
  • Inverted:
  • Gender Inverted: Alice crossdresses as a man and the result is disturbing.
  • Subverted:
    • Charlie worries Bob will turn out to be creepy when crossdressing, but Bob is actually quite attractive in drag.
    • Bob is initially viewed as creepy by other character because he is a crossdresser, but he turns out to not be as creepy of an individual as he seems.
  • Double Subverted:
  • Parodied: Bob is among Bird People who have colorful males and consider bright colors masculine. Bob wears camoflague in a stealth mission and every birdman is utterly creeped out.
  • Zig-Zagged: Bob sometimes crossdresses creepily and other times not creepily.
  • Averted: Bob's crossdressing is not creepy.
  • Enforced: The producers have noted that crossdressers have become a subject of media attention, and demand the show include a creepy crossdresser.
  • Lampshaded: "Ugh, those crossdressers freak me out."
  • Invoked:
    • Bob is deliberately gearing his style of crossdressing towards make someone uncomfortable.
    • As a mean-spirited prank, someone gives Bob bad advice about how to crossdress, causing him to look creepy.
  • Exploited: A Heteronormative Crusader uses Bob's creepy appearance as evidence crossdressers are bad.
  • Defied: Someone gives Bob good advice about how to crossdress without looking creepy.

  • Implied: Charlie meets a creepy woman. At the end of the conversation, "she" talks in a lower tone, implying the woman may actually be a crossdresser.
  • Deconstructed: Innocent crossdressers are viewed with suspicion because of Bob's creepiness. This goes especially to those who are accidentally creepy because of poor style choices.
  • Reconstructed: People are able to distinguish a Wholesome Crossdresser from people like Bob, and help unintentionally creepy crossdressers improve their style.
