Basic Trope: Commercials that encourage bad behavior for the purposes of obtaining the product.

  • Straight: The commercials for the cereal Trope-Os feature a Rascally Raccoon named Rocky trying to get a box of the cereal. However, the children in the ads always take it away from Rocky, regardless of whether he got the cereal rightfully or not, and say "Silly Rocky, Trope-Os are for kids!"
  • Exaggerated: The kids in the commercial outright kill Rocky just to get the Trope-Os.
  • Downplayed: The kids in the commercial are rather unnecessarily rude to Rocky, but to be fair, he was trying to steal the cereal from them.
  • Justified: Great tasting, though it may be, Trope-Os have too much cocoa for it to be safe to consume for Rocky. In Other words, the kids are averting Artistic License – Animal Care.
  • Inverted: The commercials for Trope-Os feature the kids sharing a box of the cereal with Rocky and generally being nice to him.
  • Subverted: When Rocky doesn't get the cereal, he starts crying. The kids feel bad and decide to give him a bowl of Trope-Os.
  • Double Subverted: Only to snatch it back at the last moment, keeping it for themselves.
  • Parodied:
    • Any kid who wants Trope-Os has to prove their cruelty by burning down churches, killing their family, and poking poodles.
    • The reason why the kids try to stop Rocky from getting Trope-Os is that such an event creates a Reality-Breaking Paradox.
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Commercials don't encourage bad behavior.
  • Enforced: "You know, the ads for Trix are a huge hit. Let's work with that."
  • Lampshaded: "Our thievery is rewarded with the delicious taste of Trope-Os!"
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: The kids realize that Rocky gets treated too harshly and decide to stop their behavior.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: "Rocky isn't even doing anything wrong, why are they stealing his cereal?"
  • Deconstructed: The commercials end up being pulled due to setting a bad example for kids.
  • Reconstructed: Later commercials still feature the kids being mischievous, but it's made clear that Rocky is in on the joke this time around, and the tone is more lighthearted.
