Basic Trope: A flamethrower is improvised by spitting alcohol into a source of flame.
- Straight: Bananas attacks a group of mooks by spitting alcohol onto a lit match.
- Exaggerated: Bananas feeds the match with a Gargle Blaster and shoots a superheated, radioactive jet of flame.
- Downplayed: Bananas is using an actual flamethrower, but runs out of fuel. He gives it a jump-start by spitting some moonshine into the fuel tank.
- Justified: Bananas is an alcoholic, and almost always has the appropriate ammunition to hand.
- Inverted: Alcohol is used to put a fire out...somehow.
- Subverted: The match fails to ignite, preventing Bananas from using a booze flamethrower...
- Double Subverted: ...until he pulls out a lighter.

- Actual flamethrowers are shown running on booze instead of gasoline or some other standard flammable liquid.
- Bananas drinks some booze and is suddenly able to breathe fire.
- Zig Zagged: The lighter also fails to ignite. Bananas grabs a lantern from nearby and tears it open to use it's flame. Finally, Bananas spits a gout of flame.
