Go To

Basic Trope: Annoyance caused by a child constantly repeating something.

  • Straight: Alice annoys her babysitter, Bob, by constantly repeating the same phrase.
  • Exaggerated: Alice makes an Overly Long Gag out of everything, much to the annoyance of everyone else.
  • Downplayed: Alice sings a song with rather repetitive lyrics. Bob is fine with it at first, but eventually asks her to stop after a certain amount of time.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted:
    • Alice is annoyed because Bob keeps doing the same thing repeatedly.
    • Alice refuses to do the same thing more than once, which people find annoying.
  • Subverted: ???
  • Double Subverted: ???
  • Parodied: ???
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Alice doesn't do a certain action repeatedly.
  • Enforced: ???
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: Torment by Annoyance
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: ???
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Played for Laughs: Alice being repetitive is treated as an Overly Long Gag.
  • Played for Drama: Bob gets so annoyed that he impulsively yells at and/or hits Alice in order to make her stop. After Alice becomes scared of him (or worse), Bob is horrified when he realizes what he did.

Bob: Okay! I get it!
