Basic Trope: The controversial practice of testing chemicals, drugs, machines or other potentially hazardous things on animals.

- Dr. Science adheres to strict regulations on animal testing, ensures that the animals are well cared for, replaces animal testing with non-sentient alternatives where possible, reduces the number of animals used and how many times they're tested to the minimum, and refines experiments involving animals so that they caused the minimum pain and distress.
- Discussed: One of the characters talks about the usually terrible lab conditions when it comes to animal testing, and plans a petition.

- Deconstructed: The animals are freed by an Animal Wrongs Group. These animals go on and spread a horrible disease, and/or die painfully due to the skills needed to survive/lacking immunity to pathogens commonly found in the wild.
