Basic Trope: The mythologies are based in actual facts in this universe. All of them.
- Straight: All mythology is a retelling of real events.
- Exaggerated: Myths are so accurate that they're not even considered myths at all but actual history.
- Downplayed:
- All mythology is Very Loosely Based on a True Story, with a basis of fact but many, many inaccuracies and outright falsehoods.
- One Myth to Explain Them All
- Justified: The Magic Goes Away, and only mythology is left as a trace of what once was.
- Inverted: Every real life event and fact turn out to be myths, as in, society finds out that their history and science are all untrue.
- Subverted: The plot is driven by a quest to fulfill an ancient myth, but at the end, it's revealed that the heroes wasted their time with a Red Herring.
- Whenever Bob hears about a local folk tale, he investigates and manages to find evidence for rational explanations behind them...
- Double Subverted: ...Only for the folk tale in question to turn out to be Real After All, with the evidence always being a Red Herring. Mind you that this formula is present in every episode, meaning Bob is suffering from some heavy Arbitrary Skepticism Aesop Amnesia.
- Parodied:
- Fairy tale books are accepted as valid sources for scientific research.
- The second anyone thinks something is true, it becomes real.
- Zig Zagged: Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane
- Averted: Some myths are revealed to indeed be pure fiction.
- Enforced: The executives wanted to never run out of episode ideas, and that's easier when you can draw from myths from all around the world.
- Lampshaded: "So, somewhere out there, a fairy could be having tea with a Tanuki?"
- Invoked: The Masquerade keeps itself hidden by convincing the public that accounts of paranormal activity are all myths.
- Exploited: Bob compiles a book of myths, and includes some original stories about his own desires in the hope that it will make them true.
- Defied: ???
- Discussed: After becoming a werewolf, Bob says, "Now that I know werewolves are real, I'm looking for a mermaid."
- Conversed: "I'm watching this show where all the gods from every mythological pantheon hang out with each other."
