Basic Trope: A sequel with much more action than the original work.

  • Straight: Troper Wars 2 has several more fight scenes than the original movie, which limited it to one action sequence per act.
  • Exaggerated:
    • Troper Wars had a normal amount of action. Troper Wars 2 has upwards of 100 fight scenes.
    • Troper Wars was an action thriller that relied more on suspense and drama than in-your-face action. 2 is nothing but a single 3-hour-long war sequence.
    • Alice & Bob is a Romantic Comedy with no action or fight scenes whatsoever. Alice & Bob 2 has the titular pair suddenly turn into a Battle Couple who slaughter hordes of enemies and cause gratuitous Stuff Blowing Up wherever they go.
  • Downplayed:
    • The two movies have similar amounts of action. Troper Wars 2 just does things on a much larger scale than its predecessor.
    • Both movies are consistent with their action, but 2 is much more graphic and brutal than the first.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted: Troper Wars 2 is much less action-oriented than its predecessor, with barely any true fight scenes.
  • Subverted: All of the fight scenes are crammed into the first half of the movie, and both sides spend the second half attempting to make peace.
  • Double Subverted: The villain's second-in-command finds it to be a stupid idea. Eventually, he kills his master and takes the reigns, resulting in one more long sequence of battles before the end.
  • Parodied: The two directors of Troper Wars, Alice and Bob, are arguing about what the sequel should be like. Alice wants more action, while Bob wants to tone things down a bit. Alice shoots Bob to end the argument.
  • Zig Zagged: Troper Wars 2 has more action than its predecessor, but feels like it has less because of its longer run time and increased number of dramatic sequences.
  • Averted: Troper Wars 2 is just as action-packed as the first movie.
  • Enforced:
    • A larger budget allows the film's crew to do more.
    • The first film suffered from all kinds of bad pacing. Intro Dump, Ending Fatigue, blatant Padding, you name it. The larger number of action sequences was meant to keep the audience's attention.
    • The padding was due to the script being stretched from a 1½ hour TV-pilot to the 2½ required for the Slow Motion Picture, the sequel's was built from the ground up.
    • The fight scenes in the first movie were praised as one of the best parts. The larger number of them was the studio's way of Pandering to the Base.
    • The first film was more of an origin story for the main characters, and dealt with them only facing their first threats. The second film revolves around them facing real threats.
  • Lampshaded: "They just won't let us catch a break this time, will they?"
  • Invoked: The main antagonist puts the heroes through as many fights as possible in hopes of leaving them too tired to do anything about his actual plan.
  • Exploited: After the heroes are left noticeably tired by multiple fights, the villain begins sending out as many battalions as possible to keep them too busy and tired to stop him from eliminating his target.
  • Defied: The heroes go out of their way to avoid as many fights as possible to save their energy for the final battle.
  • Discussed: "They look to be going all out with these attacks. Don't let your guards down, guys."
  • Conversed: "The added action makes this movie so much more interesting than the first one, doesn't it?"
  • Played For Laughs: The movie has lots of fight scenes... Those fight scenes being immensely childish slap fights that would make a five-year-old blush.
  • Played For Drama: The increased amount of action is a symbol of the villain's increasing desperation. Throughout the movie, as his Sanity Slippage gets worse, the action becomes more and more plentiful until his Villainous Breakdown in the second half, which plunges the film into a long all-out war sequence.
  • Played For Horror: Troper Wars 2 is not only more full of action, but a severe increase in the Bloodier and Gorier department to highlight that War Is Hell and most of the cast gets torn apart in hyperviolent showcases of Gorn. The film gets an "X" rating as a result, and even with the cuts to get it downrated to "R" it still makes the news as having made people puke and pass out on the cinemas and lawsuits for putting them in the hospital because of emotional damage.

Why are you wasting your time here, anyway? The main page is so much more eventful and action-packed than this padded piece of garbage.
