  • While many may think that Doki Doki Literature Club! started the premise of "a self-aware visual novel that starts attacking the player with Ominous Visual Glitches," the idea can be traced back with [redacted] Life (which was released for free a year before DDLC), and even further back with Japan's You and Me and Her.
  • When details on the localization of The Great Ace Attorney leaked, fans mocked how Sherlock Holmes was changed to Herlock Sholmes for trademark reasons. However, the name "Herlock Sholmes" dates back to 1908 when author Maurice Leblanc wrote Arsene Lupin vs Herlock Sholmes, referencing the Conan Doyle stories. Capcom chose to bring this name back when dealing with Conan Doyle's estate proved to be a long expensive process.
