* After Host!William kills his human counterpart, he concludes to leave the world to the cockroaches. He double-crosses Host-Charlotte by killing her and then sending codes through the MindControlDevice for every man, woman, and child to kill each other in a game of survival of the fittest. And by then sabotaging the device to self-destruct, no one will be able to stop the plague. Barring the outliers and hosts already uploaded to the Sublime, ''mankind and hosts alike will be driven to extinction''.

But it's a trap set up by Host-Charlotte where "Frankie" is a host used to capture Caleb by infecting him with the flies. * The flies that Host-Charlotte used to control the humans are infected with a parasitic black goo that has nanites in it. And what instrument does Host-Charlotte use to control them? A sound-emitting instrument that only the hosts could hear.
* The experiments that Caleb and Maeve saw through the monitors are the fly-infested humans who are forced to do things such as shooting themselves in the head. It definitely shows that the experiment is indeed a success.

[[AC: Well Enough Alone]]
* Host-Charlotte's plan to control humanity is not only killing and replacing them as hosts but also using flies to control them. One example would be having a fly enter the body of a government official through the eye, who ends up screaming in pain.

* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TqQESkQJT0 Season 4 opening]] is possibly the most disturbing opening. Instead of a host being submerged into liquid, you get humans being trapped inside tubes with the bodies being consumed in flames. Then, the camera pans out showing the tubes forming some sort of hive.

* The cartel front man finds a fly in his room and tries to swat it away. Then, he hears more buzzing sounds and, to his horror, finds a swarm of them going towards him. In the next scene, he finds himself lying down on the floor. He gets up and moves as if something is controlling him. Then, he kills his bosses and gives the tablet to William, who tells him that he can rest now. The man slits his throat as William walks away, implying that William must have something to do with flies.

* The reveal that Serac's supercomputer can not only predict future events with startling accuracy, can not only predict the future outcome of every person alive on the planet that exists in its database, it actively forces these events by manipulating the living conditions and social interactions of each person so that only one possible fate is available to most of them as long as they continue to play by the rules of the system. These fates are predetermined, and once assigned they are impossible to refute, because as soon as the system determines you are a lost cause, it cuts you off from any and all real support or opportunities that might have allowed you to improve yourself or your conditions, doling out just enough to keep you barely satisfied with your assigned lot in life. Free will no longer exists for a vast majority of the human population, and according to the glimpses of personal files that are shown in '''Genre''', most of them will die early, having never amounted to anything of significance, trapped in a cycle of mental issues and substance abuse, and with no family to leave behind.
