Nightmare Fuel / Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II

• Space Marine II makes good use of the Swarm Engine used to make World War Z (2019), allowing hundreds of enemies to appear on-screen. Because of this, the game captures the terror of fighting an endless horde of the ravenous Tyranid swarms all too well, with the sheer volume of Tyranids charging towards you guaranteed to make players shit their pants in terror.
• A common set-dressing to give a sense of scale is gigantic swarms of gargoyles, easily hundreds strong, careening through the air. It'll certainly unnerve anybody with a phobia of swarming insects. The Imperial Guard's Hydra anti-air platforms are often seen blasting into the sky during these scenes, but given the sheer number of targets, you can't help but wonder what they're accomplishing.
