This is an RP set in the Half-Life universe after it got invaded by the horrifying monsters of Xen. There is plenty of Nightmare Fuel to go around.
In General
- Just how badly the wildlife of Xen has ravaged the United States - most of the Southwest has been straight up abandoned by the government, because fighting off the wildlife is just too difficult.
- Race X - unlike the forces of Xen, Race X is in Kill All Humans mode, and cannot be negotiated with period. And unlike the Xen forces, which are mostly stranded on Earth, Race X still appears to be receiving reinforcements.
Cygnus Fleet
- The first encounter the fleet has with headcrabs. Not only because its the first time we get to see headcrab zombies in the RP, but the Cygnus Fleet comes from a significantly fluffier universe than Half Life, and are pretty much the only faction who has no experience with a Zombie Apocalypse.
- Even if it is Played for Laughs, Teresa Leach's completely blase reaction to the horrors that headcrabs inflict on their hosts is still extremely unnerving.
ADVENT
- The complete lack of sympathy Kras has for everyone else in the Zone. It's made very clear that ADVENT is one of the well and truly evil factions in the RP, and that them coming out on top would be terrible for everyone.
- Kras uses a hapless human as target practice for a Sectopod. Whether it was a random prisoner or one of his own in a case of You Have Failed Me is left unstated, and its debatable which is worse.
The Expedition
- That mention that Race X gets a few pages up? The Expedition found a biolab where something managed to wipe out both Race X and a group of NAC soldiers they were fighting. And whatever that thing is, it is still out there.
