  • The mummy himself. While Kharis looks more like a traditional mummy than Imhotep does, his silent nature and Black Eyes of Evil make sure he never quite leaves the Uncanny Valley.
  • The scene where Kharis wakes up and murders Dr. Petrie. It starts with him slowly opening his black, soulless eyes and grabbing the doctor's throat while he futilely screams in protest, before the scene abruptly cuts away to the protagonists. When the scene cuts back, the doctor's lifeless corpse is lying on the ground while Kharis leaves to continue his murderous rampage.
  • The very idea that there is a secret order, or more accurately a cult, dedicated to preserving this vicious monster.
  • The old High Priest from Karnak tells that the Tana fluid must be a specific number of plants. If Kharis drinked so much Tana, he will become a mindless immortal and unstoppable demon with the wish of kill everyone. Fortunately, it never happens here and in the sequels.
  • Kharis's backstory is almost the same as Imhotep in The Mummy (1932), except that Kharis is a Prince from the Royal Palace, who tried to use Tana for resurrect his Princess, was captured, his tongue being cut, and was mummified. But even as a mummy, he is actually alive all those centuries as a decrepit body. They give Imhotep the chance to die as he was executed. Kharis is condemned to living eternally, used as a mindless weapon to kill archaeologists and thiefs, under the rule of a cult, forever.
