- In Chapter 5 of Version 2, Maleficent commands thorny vines to gouge out one of Prince Phillip's eyes. Aurora does a Mercy Kill on him, and the dark fairy's vines tear apart Phillip's dead body in bloody pieces in front of Aurora's eyes.
