• The growing realisation that the one responsible for their miseries is none other than their headmaster, heavily implied to be the show’s version of God.
• The crystallised tumours forming on everyone in Yamabiko’s backstory, being the only thing shown so far in the story to kill a castaway: by permanently turning them into living crystals.
