Nightmare Fuel / SAYER

• Almost everything about the show gives off an incredibly uncanny and eerily calm atmosphere. Not all revolve around horrific events or a resident dying, but the simple presence of SAYER and the suspicion that something isn't quite right about Ærolith Dynamics is present in every episode.
• Ærolith Dynamics doesn't take long to come off as a False Utopia. Everything is incredibly organized and people are treated more like cattle that work around strict timing and generally repeat the same schedule over and over for the sake of a system.
• A great deal of "A Dreamless Sleep". It starts off normally enough with a future resident being sent to Typhon until revealing all the grisly details that happen residents that are not sedated, reducing them to an agonizingly long period of paralysis and silence As soon as Mr. Grey does reach Ærolith, he'll be tempted to claw out his own throat out of insanity.
  When you arrive on Typhon. AND YOU WILL ARRIVE. Your mind will have long since been torn asunder. From lifetimes of silence, darkness, and complete sensory deprivation. You will forget yourself, your childhood, your lost parents, YOUR ANA.
  • One of the creepiest parts is that SAYER specifically states that it was not tasked to communicate with Mr. Grey and is giving the threat purely out of its own will.
• For those who suffer from claustrophobia, "Pressure" is a great deal of Jack struggling to get through a tight, cramped, hot space as means to escape the infirmary. Even if you don't have that fear, it's sure to make your skin crawl.
• SAYER when it actually sounds irritated is startling given its usual calm and even tone. And most of this anger seems to be preserved for Jack whenever commands are not properly followed.
  GET. UP. NOW. You are not allowed to fall. You will pull your diseased shell up and you will not fail to serve this one useful purpose. Move forward or all hope is lost.
• "Enjoy The View" has SAYER tricking Captain Ingrim into the wrong side of an airlock and causing him to suffocate in space.
• The major Wham Episode that is "Boundless" is easily one of shortest and most terrifying look into just how powerful SAYER really is. While being given a lecture by Dr. Young, it shares that it killed Captain Ingrim and is more than willing to do the same to Dr. Young.
  I am boundless, doctor. I am the void itself.
• "In The Name of Science" has the pleasant imagery of flightless doves being stomped to death under spiked cleats. On top of that is the rather gory sound effect used during.
  • The ending has a subtle but very disturbing detail about the resident's room having spikes embedded into the ceiling and that them testing out the boots was a demonstration of what will happen if they don't prove useful.
• "Of Flesh and Bone" features SAYER speaking to a simulation of Dr. Young that has spent the past six years of simulated time wandering an empty Floor 13. Highlights included Young begging SAYER repeatedly to kill him, and SAYER observing that Young has gone so long without food that he has resorted to eating his own arm.
