Nightmare Fuel / Rebuild

• Constantly fending off attacks can occasionally get quite unnerving, particularly if you struggle to lower the danger rating.
• One possible ending for the first game (but not the second) involves your society stumbling upon what appears to be a portal to hell, which is heavily implied to be responsible for the outbreak. The revelation is terrifying, particularly as you try to destroy it and hordes of zombies attack your walls.
• In Rebuild 3, in the final city, you start to see vivid hallucinations of zombies (taking over the player's screen), corrupted text in in-game messages, shaking and skittering gameplay elements, occasionally unresponsive game functions, random blood splatters, the "Done" button momentarily says "KILL!" when you click on it, and the worst one, your unit action menu occasionally will be filled with multiple zombie heads and the action "DEVOUR." Also, when interacting with non-loyal NPCs, you will get extra dummy option selections such as "Eat your own eyeballs" and "Sacrifice them on the altar of pain."
• Rebuild 2 as a whole goes much harder on the Gorn than its predecessor, particularly with some of the "failed defence" messages. Highlights include a couple images of a zombie shoving its fingers into a civilian's eyes as they're dragged down to be Devoured by the Horde; or the zombie that's blown to shreds by an improvised trap.
