  • The intro is literally a case of The Bad Guy Wins as the Vizier is back in action, has captured Kaileena with his army, and reduced his home kingdom of Babylon to ruin and has slaughtered much of its population. The Prince learns that messing with the timeline so much has skewed any sense of proper history. Kaileena's narration of Babylon's situation only shows how grave things are.
Kaileena: As our ship lay sinking in the harbor, the Prince found himself in a city quite different from the one he'd left behind. The normally busy wharves were now decimated. Blood-spattered omens and splintered door frames were all that waited to greet him. And the people- merchants, beggars, fisherman- were nowhere to be found.
  • Seeking to complete his original goal of the first game, the Vizier unleashes the curse of the sands once more by killing Kaileena, this time partially corrupting the Prince himself. The Prince's transformation is pretty horrifying since he becomes a smokey sand creature with a daggertail previously embedded into his skin by one of the Vizier's generals now a part of his arm while piercing his flesh. The Vizier also goes through some major Body Horror when the Vizier plunges the Dagger of Time into himself to gain immortality, his back sprouts a scorpion tail which attacks him!
    • Speaking of the daggertail, the Prince spends the entire game with it embedded in his arm! The deep cuts it left in his arm remain fresh the whole game. Though the sand infection has "healed" it somewhat, it's still a bit disturbing to see the Prince walking around with what is effectively a gigantic open wound for nearly the whole game.
    • The Body Horror some of the Vizier's generals go through from being exposed to the Sands of Time is pretty creepy as well, like Klompa who ends up losing his jaw and growing into a snarling grotesquely fat giant. Oh and yes, that thing on his "chin" is his dangling tongue.
    • The Vizier's transformation into "Zurvan" is profoundly creepy since he looks like some unholy fusion of an angel and a scorpion with a human torso exposed.
  • Even worse is that the Sands of Time exposure now gave the Prince a sentient darker self created from the negativity during his seven years running from the Dahaka known as Dark Prince, who is actively longing to take over his body and his kingdom while spurring on his darker thoughts.
  • The Prince finding his dead father in the tunnels of Babylon, after already wishing to meet once again to apologize for his past arrogant behavior. The Prince has to see his father dead twice now, both indirectly because of his own actions!
