  • After calling out Swan on stealing his song, Winslow goes through a hellish experience. He is sent to prison, where every tooth in his mouth is replaced against his will- leaving only metallic, silver replacements on top of losing his voice- causing him to snap and then when he tries again, a series of accidents occur that result in half of his face getting crushed by Swan's record machine. He's forced to take pills on consistent basis to suppress the pain and initially can only make incomprehensible/ghoulish sounds before he has a voice synthesizer that makes him slightly more coherent.
  • Winslow as The Phantom is very eerie to look at- dressed in macabre black with a white owl mask he found on set to hide his now disfigured face. He looks more like a demon than a man.
  • Beef's murder at the hands of Winslow for just being one of Swan's associates.
  • Swan himself, is a corrupt entertainer, but seemingly reasonable to deal with. However, as the story goes on, it becomes clear he's a depraved man who loves to make others suffer, willing to let his clients get killed for the sake of publicity, and even sold his soul to be young forever.
    • Throughout the movie, there's something subtly off with Swan, from his refusal to be recorded visually/audibly, hiding behind elaborate means, and his mannerisms seeming more like it's masking something behind his angelic features. It all culminates in the revelation that he's been kept young via a Deal with the Devil to record himself in private- that reveals his voice in recordings is actually raspy/aged in comparison to calm/melodious voice he has in public- and if he ever got recorded live- he would instantly begin rotting away.
  • The Deal with the Devil scene is creepy due to how due to eerily casual the Devil appearing as Swan's reflection acts in convincing the man to give up his soul.
  • The ending where everything goes into chaos, Swan's Nightmare Face is revealed, the madman trying to kill Phoenix out of spite, and ending with Winslow's own Facial Horror finally being revealed after being hidden for most of the film.
