As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked.

  • Skorpius kidnap women and impregnate them with their venom. If you get stung, a magic barrier traps you in their lair, and you get sicker and sicker and can't do anything until you die horribly.
  • If someone really pisses off a spriggan, they will cast "floraspell" on them, which means that thorny vines dig into their muscles, which control their body and make them do the spriggan's bidding. The victims are conscious the whole time and in constant pain from the thorns, and the spell can keep them alive for hundreds of years.
  • Arachne can feed off of their prey for weeks, bound in silk and conscious while the arachne drinks their blood and the silkbeasts gnaw off their limbs.
  • Agony cradles might be the most disturbing monsters of all. When the cradles capture their prey, they keep them alive for the rest of their life and in constant agony, using their screams to attract more prey. The Cult of the Crescent is known to feed them with infants to create agony crystals to power their weapons, said children spending their whole lives trapped in constant pain, eventually looking more like decrepit corpses than people.
  • The Empire of Damijana is a terrible place to live in. The place is surrounded by walls and most people born there have no chance of getting out. The rulers are perceived as perfect as if sent by the gods, and anyone who is in danger of souring their reputation is assassinated, if they don't kill themselves first. The place is horribly polluted and overcrowded to the point some people are living in the sewers. Anyone who isn't a red elf legally can't be a citizen and could easily be falsely arrested. And of course, Serafeen runs a secret space program that kidnaps and tortures people to power it.
  • While being a lycanthrope sounds desirable if you're sickly like Evan or just want to become stronger like Connor, it's shown to be quite terrifying. Aside from the whole uncontrollably turning into a bloodthirtsty beast-thing, lycanthropes are plagued with Horror Hunger. In one story, Evan impulsively bites off Disgrace's fingers. In another, he explains to Connor, who impulsively ate a spider right after waking up, that he's soon going to have to fight the urge to eat his friends and family.
